Getting going with Simprovise is a pretty easy and straight-forward process, but just in case, let's go over it really quickly.
Username is what you'll log in with. Displayed Name is the name that others see. You can make them both the same, but it's recommended not to do this as having a different username will make it harder for bots and external users to try brute forcing your password. They have to guess your login name and your password.
Our software does not collect email addresses; all alerts and notifications go through the site itself, so it's up to you to remember to log in and check the site once in a while. We do also have a Discord server, which integrates with our software to send messages when new posts and topics are created, so it's a decent tool for keeping up on the go.
Creating a Character
Once you've registered and logged in (tick "remember me" to never be logged out automatically), you'll find a Manage Sims option at the top bar of the site. Click this. From there, you can click Create Sim, and start filling out some basic details about your Sim character. You may add as much detail as you'd like, or as little as you like. All that is required is a name (first and last), and a group (life state). Once you're ready, click Ready for Play and save the Sim.
You'll now have this Sim character as an option in post-as drop-downs in in-character locations. We use the terms Sim and character interchangeably here, due to how this site works. If you're new to role-playing, or just new to role-playing in this particular format, there are links in the Beginners drop that will help you acclimate. And remember, you're always welcome to ask questions if you need help or get lost.
